Registration

1. I forgot my registration email. What can I do?

Please contact us through the form below. We will send you an email and arrange a way to identify you and send a reminder.

Assessments

2. I registered but nothing happens when I login.

Make sure you have confirmed your email. If you haven’t received a confirmation email, check your spam box.

3. I took the assessments twice and failed, and I disagree with the results. What can I do?

Our assessment process is designed to be as objective as possible. Our community administrator cannot override the results of the assessments once the results are recorded.

Claiming projects

4. The system is not allowing me to claim projects.

This could be due to one of the following:

5. I disagree with client feedback on my draft. What can I do?

Contact the client through the messaging system and attempt to understand the nature of their feedback. Try to keep an open mind and look at the issue from the client’s position. Remember that even the most experienced writers sometimes need feedback and to adjust their work to the needs of the client. With solid communication, your second draft will most likely be accepted by the client as soon as it’s submitted.

Getting paid

6. My client accepted the project, but I haven’t been paid. What is wrong?

Your balance is paid twice a month, on the 5th and 20th of every month. Projects completed between the 5th and 19th of the month will be paid on the 20th. Projects completed between the 20th of the previous month and the 4th of the current month will be paid on the 5th.

7. How much does Compose.ly collect from each payment?

Our rate varies, but Compose.ly has one of the lowest rates out there. As we add more features to our marketplace, you’ll have more control over your individual rate and earnings. Stay tuned for updates.

Account restrictions

8. Why did you restrict my account?

There are two types of warnings that can lead to account restriction.

We employ warnings to maintain client satisfaction, which in turn ensures a steady flow of work for freelance writers. If you accumulate two warnings your account will be restricted and you won’t be able to claim new projects until the restriction period ends. Accounts are typically restricted for a period of six months.

Purchasing a product

2. Is my credit card information secure?

We don’t store any credit card information on our servers. It is transmitted securely and processed and stored by Stripe, a leading payment processor.

Service quality

3. What if the writer I hired produces sub-par work?

We have a well-established vetting process to ensure only top notch writers are able to join our community.

However, we understand that writing can be a complex and subjective exercise. For this reason, you have the right to request two (2) revisions of each project you commission. Furthermore, you and the writer have access to our messaging system which ensures quick and clear communication regarding your ideas and objectives.

4. Is there a way to choose a specific writer for my project?

Currently we are unable to match specific writers to specific clients. However, we are updating our features and system continuously, so stay tuned.
